Salary Range of $225k-$300k
Position Summary:
KBKG has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned State and Local Tax (SALT) professional to establish and lead our new SALT practice. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in state and local tax matters across multiple states and have a proven track record client relationship management and team leadership. This leader will drive growth by working with our sales team and our large network of regional CPA firms to identify and propose client opportunities.
This person must be available to work at least 3 days per week in one of our offices nationally including: New York City, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Pasadena.
Key Responsibilities:
- Practice Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the SALT practice, setting objectives and managing performance to meet financial and operational goals.
- Client Service Excellence: Serve as a trusted advisor, offering solutions in areas such as income and franchise tax, sales and use tax, property tax, and credits/incentives.
- Business Development: Working with an existing sales team and existing CPA firm relationships to establish our market presence for the SALT practice. You will also work with our marketing team to develop collateral, articles, and other content to promote our services.
- Technical Expertise & Thought Leadership: Stay current on state and local tax laws and trends and serve as a subject matter expert both internally and externally, representing KBKG at industry events and through thought leadership initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in state and local tax, with progressive leadership roles
- Experience overseeing a team tax consultant’s
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA, JD, or other relevant certifications a plus
- Strong knowledge of SALT regulations and experience advising on complex tax issues
- Excellent leadership skills, with experience in team building and development
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex tax issues clearly and confidently
